IFFEd has today published its Annual Report 2024, charting its first full year of operations and highlighting major milestones in the organisation’s mission to unlock affordable education finance for lower-middle-income countries (LMICs).

2024 Annual Report Cover

Titled A Generation of Possibilities, the report captures IFFEd’s progress in transforming a bold concept into a fully operational mechanism capable of mobilising billions for education and skills.

In 2024, IFFEd launched its first package with a commitment of up to US $1.5 billion, working with governments and multilateral development banks (MDBs) to expand access to education. Its model – combining grants and guarantees – continues to prove its power, turning every $1 of donor funding into $7 of concessional finance for education.

The report also highlights IFFEd’s landmark agreements with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and its AAA/AA+ credit ratings from Moody’s and S&P Global, which confirm the institution’s financial strength and credibility.

In his foreword, Gordon Brown, IFFEd’s Honorary President, writes: “IFFEd was born from a simple but powerful idea – that by using innovative financial structuring, we can multiply the impact of donor contributions and unlock far greater resources for education than we have now.”

In 2025, IFFEd is focused on scaling its impact – expanding partnerships, growing its donor base, and advancing a pipeline of education investments across Africa, Asia and beyond.
